A Family Story

Since 1989, the Boutemy family has been crafting the wines of Château Haut-Lagrange with passion and dedication. For two generations, they have worked year after year to produce authentic wines that faithfully express their Pessac-Léognan terroir.

“My paternal great-uncle owned the vineyard next to what would become Château Haut-Lagrange, while my maternal grandparents owned the other neighboring vineyard. As a child, I spent all my holidays in the family vineyard, and it was there that my passion for the vine and wine took root.

When I founded Haut-Lagrange in the late 1980s, the children were still very young but eager to help; they greatly contributed to the estate’s success.

Today, everyone’s skills come together and complement each other to ensure high-quality wines and a warm, friendly welcome for our visitors.”

The Boutemy family is supported by a passionate team led by Ghislain Boutemy, director of Haut-Lagrange. Together, they share common values such as respect for nature and a love of the land. Each expert in their field, they work to produce high-quality wines and provide a warm, welcoming experience for visitors.

The Haut-Lagrange friends team, known for their good humor, lend a hand during major events like the Pessac-Léognan Open Doors held every early December.
