Put on Your Winemaker's Hat
We welcome you to our cellars for a hands-on, educational workshop. We start by tasting and introducing you to our estate's grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, their aromas, their textures, their personality. You taste them separately to understand what each one brings to the final blend.
Then comes the fun part: you create your own combinations, taste them, adjust them. We guide you, answer your questions, and share the secrets behind the blending process as it's practiced at Haut-Lagrange to craft elegant, balanced wines.
The workshop ends with a tasting of a white and two reds from the estate.
Blend, Taste, Share
No wine knowledge required. The workshop is designed to be fun and educational, in a small group of up to 8 people. We talk about terroir and winemaking, we demystify wine and its vocabulary without unnecessary jargon. A great way to sharpen your palate or simply learn how to taste.
The workshop is a team effort: we compare notes, share our impressions, and build together. The more curious you are, the richer the experience.
Practical Information
The Wine Blending Workshop is a great team building activity. We can run up to 3 simultaneous workshops and accommodate groups of up to 24-26 people. It can also be combined with our Wine'scape Escape Game: while one group learns to blend wine, the other solves the cellar riddles, then they switch (currently only available in French). The day can end with a Gourmet Tour and Tasting. Contact us for group rates and event planning.
No prior knowledge needed. We adapt to your group's level.
The workshop is reserved for guests aged 18 and over, in small groups of 8 to 10 people maximum.
Château Haut-Lagrange is located in Léognan, 15 km south of Bordeaux, easily accessible by car and by bike. Free semi-shaded afternoon parking is available on site.
Cancellation policy: cancellation or rescheduling possible up to 24 hours before the workshop. We kindly ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time. Late arrivals may result in a shorter experience.
